The Tree – Simon’s Cat
Simon comes to his cat’s rescue after discovering him up a tree – meowing for help! Want to see more?
The Tree is a classic example of when life imitates art, then art imitates real life! Simon drew this gag in one of his books, only for it to happen to him in real life a few years later. Ask him, he has the scars to prove it!

FAQs:

Q. What software do you use?
A. Simon’s Cat is made using Adobe Flash / TV Paint / CelAction animation software.

Q. Why does it take so long to make each Simon’s Cat film?
A. Animation is a slow process and Simon’s Cat films pay particular attention to observed, real life cat behaviour. Historically the films were traditionally animated frame by frame. More recently we use Celaction which has sped up the process but still requires a lot of care and attention. Each film takes approximately 6-9 weeks to make, depending on complexity, number of characters and special effects.

Q. Where can I buy Simon’s Cat merchandise?
A. You can purchase Simon’s Cat products from our online shop!

  9. Poor Simon. I figured it would end with him being stuck up a tree, but I didn’t think the cat would get down first.

  10. Love the end. While you’re up here you got any food for me. Hahaha

  11. First rule of owning a cat: let them get of the tree on their own.

  12. Oh Simon, I’m so sorry you went through this. But happy you chose to share!
The best part was when Simon’s cat just casually slides down the tree.

  13. Think !!, Have you ever seen a Cat Skeleton in a tree???? I’m just saying

  14. The cat wins… again!

  15. I swear they do this just to spite us. When one of my boys was a kitten, he climbed up a tree and got “stuck”. I tried getting him down, but he kept climbing higher until I eventually had to give up because there weren’t any sturdy branches that I could have climbed up to. He was near a branch that went to the roof, so I supposed that he could just jump to the roof and then get down from there using some containers we had in the backyard as steps. Ten minutes later, I find him asleep in the cat bed as if nothing ever happened. The little bugger got bored when I stopped trying to get him down, and climbed down the same way he went up 😒

  16. Someone please tell me where this notion that a cat in a tree needs to be rescued came from. I’ve had outdoor cats, and every one of them seemed fully competent in getting in and out of trees. Not once did any member of my family needed to go into the tree and get the cat out. Heck, strays are using my overgrown olive tree to get on my roof (and at any birds residing there).
